- Designers Mariette Barsoum, CKD and Heidi Marika-Perez of Westborough, MA-based Divine Kitchens redesigned this Shrewsbury, MA kitchen to open it up to adjacent rooms and create a warmer, more efficient space.
- The clients desired a flow from the kitchen to the living room, and wanted the designers to address unsightly ceiling beams in the process. Barsoum and Marika-Perez highlighted the beams with a rich stain and surrounded them with whitewashed 5"-wide ceiling planks. The opening from the kitchen to the living room was increased to 10' and the wall between the living and dining rooms was removed.
- Warm neutral tones added warmth to the space. Instead of a chilly off-white for the cabinetry, the designers chose a complement of tans and khakis on the island and perimeter cabinetry. The fruitwood-stained walnut floors and custom cherry wood top on the island added a natural contrast. Slate-toned Lagos Blue CaesarStone on the perimeter cabinetry completes the look.
- The product line-up includes neutral-toned custom cabinets with custom-designed, raised-panel door, Lagos Blue CaesarStone countertops, custom cherry island top, Dal-Tile tumbled stone backsplash, Houzer sink, Danze faucet and pot filler, GE Monogram oven/microwave and refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher and Wolf cooktop.
