MAUMEE, Ohio -- March 2, 2009 -- Therma-Tru Doors announced a strategic alliance between Seal-Rite, one of its largest distributors, and Soft-Lite, a vinyl window manufacturer, to access the remodeling and replacement market on a large scale.
Impetus for the alliance is the downturn in new construction and a desire to access the remodeling and replacement market, according to a Therma-Tru news release.
Seal-Rite’s extensive product line-up and finishing capabilities will allow Soft-Lite to offer pre-hung, pre-finished Therma-Tru exterior door systems to Soft-Lite’s network of dealers across 39 states – along with its window products, according to the release. The doors will be available in a variety of paint and stain colors including custom color matching to complement home interiors. Seal-Rite also offers various cladding options for low-maintenance and weather-resistance.
“We are thrilled to offer Therma-Tru doors with the customization required to serve Soft-Lite’s expansive customer base,” says Gary Kime, chief operating officer for Seal-Rite.
“We are pleased to offer our customers the convenience of ordering both windows and doors from one source without any penalty for ordering just one door, which is typical for a remodeling or replacement application,” says Greg Irving, vice president of sales and marketing for Soft-Lite Windows. “We feel the quality and reputation of Therma-Tru door systems, along with Seal-Rite’s industry-leading pre-finishing capabilities will be great additions to our existing product offering.”
Soft-Lite windows are ranked “Gold” by the American Architectural Manufacturer Association (AAMA) and are National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) and Energy Star certified. Therma-Tru fiberglass door systems are also NFRC and Energy Star qualified, and offer five times the insulating value of a wood door, the manufacturer states.
