The 36-acre hilltop site was chosen for its panoramic views of the equestrian countryside and distant metropolitan city. The Italian villa is for a hectic CEO and spouse, both passionate patrons of the arts, and their four active, at-home children. The villa was to be an everyday livable home and anchor an estate that would become a destination for extended family and friends, yet be an appropriate venue for a variety of intimate or large-scale formal and informal events.
Family activities include entertaining, swimming, fitness, horseback riding and a menagerie of pets. The home also hosts a variety of functions including symphony concerts; therefore, the living room possesses acoustics fit for Grammy-winning artists. Final architecture was critiqued by a renowned university historian.
