The homeowners had a lifestyle in mind: They wanted casual living with an emphasis on entertaining, both inside and out. Tuscan architecture fit their design taste and style of living. The home was designed around both a front courtyard and an extensive outdoor living area at the rear, with a deep granite pool, screen porch with Phantom screens and an intimate fireplace area. The home surrounds the pool with French door access from the foyer, great room, dining and master bedroom. The open flow of the kitchen, dining and great room give the space a grand yet functional feel.
The home is situated on Boystown Lake with a walking path surrounding the lake. Privacy from the walking path was an issue. The challenge was to capture the breathtaking views of the surrounding area, yet maintain the privacy of the homeowner. This was accomplished with the secluded pool and fireplace area overlooking the natural views. Privacy from the walking path was achieved by integrating low privacy walls in the design of both the pool and courtyard areas. It’s easy to forget you’re in Nebraska when you step out into this resort-like oasis. The home’s theme of casual elegance was artfully achieved with architectural details.
