Chicago — CEVISAMA, the International Fair for Architectural Ceramic and Bathroom Equipment, has launched its 2009 design competitions aimed at students.
The competition, trade show officials said, is aimed at honoring the innovative use of ceramic tile in architectural applications, and is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students of architecture, industrial design, engineering and fine art, as well as professionals who have graduated within the past two years. Students from both Spanish and international colleges may enter.
The theme of the 2009 bathroom equipment competition is “Liquid Dreams,” and focused on the bathroom as a space for rest, enjoyment and reflection, as well as a return to ancient cultures that made bathing a purifying ritual.
Monetary prizes are being offered, with registrations for both competitions being accepted until Dec. 10. The winning designs will be displayed during CEVISAMA, in Valencia, Spain Feb. 10-13, 2009.
