CA Kitchen Remodel Blends Colors, Textures

  • Designed by Ronni Fryman with assistance from general contractor Jeff King, president of Ventura, CA-based Kitchen Places, this galley style 10'x18' kitchen was remodeled to meet the homeowners’ desire for open space, while maintaining its existing footprint.
  • A palette of unusual texture, color and detail draws the eye around the room. From the Zebrawood laminate cabinetry to the opalescent porcelain tile backsplash, Fryman states that the project’s greatest accomplishment is blending textures without making the space too busy.
  • Product lineup: Quartz countertops in Lagos Blue from CaesarStone; Cabinetry is Amero by Pacific Crest Industries in Zebrano laminate; Richelieu cabinet pulls topped in solid oak; KitchenAid 36" professional range, 36" refrigerator with matching cabinet panels, microwave and warming drawer, GE hood and wine refrigerator, Fisher-Paykel dishwasher drawer; sink and faucet from the Evoke collection by Kohler.
  • A number of green design elements were specified, including fluorescent recessed can lighting, cabinet boxes made of 100% recycled fiberboard, Energy Star-rated appliances, a new, efficient HVAC system and a tankless water heating system.
