Minneapolis — Medallion Cabinetry has marked its 10th years as a presence for kitchen and bath cabinetry in the West Coast market, the company announced.
To commemorate milestone anniversary, officials from Medallion and its parent company, Elkay Manufacturing Company, attended a special ceremony at the company’s factory in Independence, OR.
“The west region is of great importance to us,” said Tom Cook, president of the Elkay Cabinet Division. “We celebrate our accomplishments, such as this 10th Anniversary, and continuously recognize opportunities to share our commitment with customers, employees and the communities we serve.
“Medallion is committed to the Western United States and it is our honor to serve our West region kitchen and bath dealerships through Medallion’s continuous investment and development of our manufacturing capacity in Oregon.”
Medallion purchased Westwood Products and its 70,000-sq.-ft. Salem, OR facility in 1998. The 150,000-sq.-ft. Independence plant officially opened in October of 2001, replacing the Salem factory and enabling Medallion to significantly increase production levels to address the company’s growing base of business in Western markets. The plant currently produces more than 900 cabinets a day and employs more than 350 employees.
