Geberit Joins Roster Of Green Building Council

Des Plaines, IL — Geberit North America, the Des Plaines, IL-based manufacturer of concealed installation systems for residential wall-hung toilets and related plumbing products, has become a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, the company announced.

The USGBC encourages the adoption of sustainable building and provides a rating system for the design, construction and operation of high-performance buildings that meet “green” standards.

“Geberit’s focus on sustainability makes becoming a USGBC member an imperative for Geberit,” said John Fitzgerald, the company's director of marketing.

“That commitment to sustainability, which runs throughout our products, parallels the USGBC’s commitment. We realize that the plumbing industry especially is concerned with water conservation, and needs strong members.”

In addition to becoming an active member of the USGBC, the company plans to cooperate with interior designers, architects and contractors “to get the message to corporations that plumbing systems can save water,” Fitzgerald asserted.

Geberit North America is part of the Geberit Group, a European market leader and global provider of sanitary technology.
