Meredith Ply, TAB spokesperson, said many conference participants anticipate sharing recent market movement.
"Nationally home prices fell 3.2 percent in the second quarter, while Texas showed a 1.6 percent gain, according to Standard & Poor's quarterly housing index," says Carter, president/CEO of Jerry Carter Homes in Garland.
"Dallas, Seattle, Atlanta, Portland, Ore., and Charlotte, N.C., recorded gains in home prices during the second quarter," notes Carter. "Although modest, they represent a positive trend. You can practically hear a collective sigh of relief across the region."
The Dallas Morning News real estate writer Steve Brown reported Dallas home prices "up about 5 percent at mid-year compared with the second quarter of 2006, according to the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise overnight's quarterly report ... "
