Project cost: $335,000

This whole house project was the culmination of a two-phase whole house remodel of the entire first floor of an existing bungalow. With this remodel an addition off the rear of the home and complete reworking of the existing front porch were also worked on.

The homeowners’ passion of this whole house project was to create a classic Arts and Crafts bungalow from their simple 1920s carpenter craftsman style home. The entire floor plan layout was reconsidered. This new design lead to the relocation of the front door and central circulation spine, plus the addition of new banquet seating and mudroom/entry at the rear. Carefully researched, designed and executed authentic period Arts and Crafts design elements added authentic charm and character to the solution.

The design solution re-arranged the circulation and layout of the existing home and added just enough new, creating a functional, intimate, inviting spaces and a much improved floor plan. The entire home was transformed in a Cinderella-like fashion from its decaying 1920s original condition into a grand Arts and Crafts bungalow.
