Benton Harbor, MI — Whirlpool Corp., the Benton Harbor, MI-based appliance giant, will receive the 2007 “Energy Star Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence” from the U.S. Dept. of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
This award is presented annually to a select group of organizations that have exhibited outstanding environmental leadership year after year, while sustaining product and marketing excellence. This honor represents the company’s eighth “Energy Star” Award win, according to the company.
Whirlpool Corp., an “Energy Star” partner since 1998, was honored for its leadership in designing, manufacturing and marketing resource-efficient home appliances that earn the “Energy Star,” the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency.
“Energy Star” was introduced by the EPA in 1992 as a voluntary market-based partnership that offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions to save energy and help protect the environment.
