Jenkintown, PA—Steamist Co., Inc., a 50-year-old, Rutherford, NJ-based manufacturer of steambath and sauna equipment, has been acquired by RAF Industries , the company announced.
The acquisition, whose terms were undisclosed, was announced last month by Rick Horowitz, president and COO of the Jenkintown, PA-based RAF Industries.
Jeff Noll, formerly president and general manager of Grohe, and Jeff Carney, formerly Grohe’s v.p./sales and marketing, have both joined Steamist, the company said. Noll will serve as president and Carney is the new v.p./sales and marketing.
According to Horowitz, RAF, which currently owns 18 portfolio companies, had been impressed with Steamist’s “impressive history of growth, innovation and unwavering commitment to product quality.”
“It is a great addition to our portfolio of luxury building products,” Horowitz said.
The category of residential steambaths “has tremendous potential as part of the exploding custom shower market,” observed Noll. The residential sauna market is also growing, and there is continued growth in the institutional markets for both commercial steambaths and saunas, he added.
Neil White, former owner and president of Steamist, added: “I am confident that the company’s acquisition by RAF will help to continue Steamist’s tradition of growth through unmatched product quality, service and customer satisfaction.”
