Jasper, IN — Prizes totaling $40,000 will be awarded to the winners of a pair of design competitions announced by two MasterBrand Cabinets’ brands – Aristokraft Cabinetry and Diamond Cabinets.
Designers who work in either new construction or remodeling are eligible for the prizes, said the Jasper, IN-based MasterBrand.
The “Living in Style” contest offers builders and designers of new homes the opportunity to submit their best-in-class kitchen designs featuring Aristokraft products. Entrants are invited to submit entries showing photography of their project, as well as a written description of why their designs stand out and the Aristokraft products used. Entries must be submitted by an Aristokraft dealer or distributor, or by a designer employed by a dealer or distributor.
The winning entry in each of four categories will be awarded a $5,000 cash prize. The entries must feature a newly constructed kitchen built between Sept. 1, 2005 and Sept. 30, 2006. The categories are:

  • Entry-level home
  • Move-up home
  • Luxury home
  • Model home

Entries will be judged on aesthetics and functionality, as well as on the functional and aesthetic use of design in addressing challenges and capitalizing on assets. Entries must be received by Sept. 30, 2006.
In addition to the cash prize, the winner in each category will have his or her winning design featured at the 2007 International Builders’ Show and published in Aristokraft’s Living in Style newsletter and on Winners will be announced at the 2007 International Builders’ Show, Feb. 7-10, 2007 in Orlando.

The “Diamond Designs” contest will celebrate the beauty and benefits of a functional and stylish Diamond “Logix” room by awarding prizes to projects that utilize Diamond’s organization cabinets in four categories:

  • Busy Family Kitchen
  • Gourmet Cook Kitchen
  • Entertaining Kitchen
  • Hobby/Other Room

The winning designers in each category will be awarded a $5,000 prize and their work will be highlighted on the Diamond designer Web site and in the Diamond Difference newsletter.
Entrants are encouraged to submit an original design created and completed for a new-construction or remodeled room (since Jan. 1, 2005), along with at least two color “before and after” photographs and an essay describing the design rationale and Diamond products used. An official entry and release form also must be completed.
Winners will be judged on aesthetics and functionality, as well as the best use of Logix products in addressing challenges. Entries must be received by Sept. 1, 2006. Winners will be announced in late 2006. Professional photographs of their projects will be taken, the company added.
