New Bern, NC — BSH Home Appliances Corp., the manufacturer of luxury brands Bosch, Thermador, Siemens and Gaggenau, has received ISO 14001 environmental certification for its appliance factories in New Bern, NC, the company announced.
Completed in 2005, BSH’s $300-million appliance park here is comprised of state-of-the-art factories for washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, cooktops and ventilation for the Bosch, Thermador and Siemens brands.
Developed by the International Organization for Standardization, the governing body for a worldwide federation of national organizations, ISO 14001 Certification requires a company to meet strict international standards in implementing management practices that minimize harmful effects on the environment from production.
“As a global appliance leader, BSH is firmly committed to being at the forefront of environmental manufacturing wherever we operate,” said Franz Bosshard, BSH president and CEO. “The certification assures our customers that they are purchasing quality products that have been manufactured according to the highest levels of efficiency in the use of materials, energy, water and land.”
