Reston, VA — Kitchen cabinet suppliers are being urged to back a Senate bill aimed at making health care more affordable and accessible for small businesses.
The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association last month called on cabinet manufacturers to support S. 1955, the Health Insurance Marketplace Modernization and Affordability Act. The Senate is currently considering the measure.
According to the Reston, VA-based KCMA, the legislation:
- Allows for fully insured Small Business Health Plans (formerly known as Association Health Plans) to be offered by a bona fide trade association.
- Allows associations to pool independently from the underlying small group market.
- Allows uniformity across state lines through some relief from state mandates.
- Keeps primary oversight and supervision of insurance coverage at the state level.
The KCMA is urging members to contact their senators and ask them to support S. 1955.
