Des Plaines, IL —
The Board of Trustees for the Center for Kitchen and Bath Research (CKBER) has announced that it is building an alliance that will create a united foundation under the National Remodeling Foundation (NRF) banner.
The effort comes as a result of the decision by the National Kitchen & Bath Association to discontinue support of the CKBER, which the NKBA founded.
The terms of the NRF and CKBER agreement stipulate that CKBER assets and mission will be combined with those of NRF, based here.
“We’re excited that the NRF is going to carry on the mission that was the foundation of CKBER,” said Steven Kleber, former president of the board of CKBER. “It is our intention to transfer the energy, talent and assets of the key individuals and companies who so generously contributed to the CKBER over the past year to further work through NRF.
“With [more than] 40 percent of the remodeling market focused on the kitchen and bath, the alliance of the two foundations makes perfect sense,” Kleber added.
According to NRF officials, the mission of NRF is to establish and maintain a commitment to programs that expand and unite the remodeling industry, as well as to ensure the industry’s growth and security, and to encourage ethical conduct and professionalism throughout the remodeling industry.
