2006 Surface Fabrication Expo the Latest Hit in Las Vegas

Las Vegas — More than 3,000 surface professionals attended this year’s Surface Fabrication & Design Expo, which showcased the latest in materials, tools and equipment for fabricators, most of whom have direct ties to the kitchen and bath industry.

Cygnus Expositions, a division of business-to-business media leader Cygnus Business Media – and the parent company of Kitchen & Bath Design News – announced that attendees from around the world gathered here for three days in March to share ideas, receive the latest information and technical training, and preview new products and services.

“Attendees and exhibitors were very pleased with this year’s event,” said show director Pati Beaulieu. “You could feel the energy as you walked through the show. The exhibit floor was packed, significant sales were being made on the show floor and most of our seminars were standing-room-only. Clearly, the Expo continues to be the place for the industry to meet.”

Surface Fabrication & Design Expo, formerly known as the Solid Surface Show, showcased the products and services of nearly 140 companies in more than 100,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, show organizers stated. On display were some 30 brands of surfacing material – including solid surface, engineered and natural stone products – as well as sinks, faucets, shower pans and kitchen and bath accessories. Machinery for the fabrication of solid surface, engineered and natural stone products, templating, CNC, and job tracking software, adhesives, abrasives, dust collection equipment and myriad tools rounded out the exhibit floor.

The three-day event also boasted a program of some 60 seminars, workshops and clinics focusing on key issues facing the surface community.

The International Solid Surface Fabricators Association (ISSFA), co-sponsor of the Surface Fabrication & Design Expo, held its annual ISSFA Day at the Expo in conjunction with the show.

The Surface Fabrication & Design Expo is owned and produced by Cygnus Expositions, the trade show arm of Cygnus Business Media. The show is sponsored by ISSFA and KBDN’s sister magazine, Surface Fabrication, formerly SolidSurface magazine.
