SEAL BEACH, CA — Custom Building Products, based here, has opened a 112,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Las Vegas, the company has announced.
According to company officials, the plant was established to help the company serve the growing construction markets in Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Custom will manufacture many of its thin-set mortars, grouts and self-leveling underlayments at the Las Vegas location, the company pointed out.
“Our Las Vegas operations represent a key step in Custom’s commitment to meeting the needs of professionals in our industry,” said Tom Peck, president of Custom. According to Skip Weber, Custom’s v.p./manufacturing, the decision to locate the plant in Las Vegas hinged greatly on the proximity to customers, the ready availability of raw materials and Nevada’s favorable business climate. The state’s “Management Assistance Program” (MAP) also helped Custom set up training for new plant employees – a crucial factor for the plant’s long-term success, Weber pointed out.
The Las Vegas plant represents Custom’s 11th manufacturing facility within the U.S. and features sophisticated, specialized equipment from the U.S. and Germany, the company concluded.
