Montgomery, AL — Jim Bishop Cabinets has acquired the assets of a nearby company that will provide the Montgomery, AL-based cabinet manufacturer with additional production space.
Under the terms of the transaction, Jim Bishop acquired a 20,000-sq.-ft. facility in Pell City, AL. The space includes a finish line that can produce at the same capacity as Jim Bishop’s current finish line, an offline spray booth, moulding sprayer and a UV flatline system, the company said.
The facility also includes 15,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, furnished offices, a phone system and computers, as well as a 24,000-sq.-ft. covered storage/docking station, the company added.
“This acquisition gives our company the finish capacity to grow to approximately $90 million in sales in today’s dollars,” commented senior v.p. Jim Bishop, Jr.
Bishop added that the acquisition was a debt-free purchase, “holding to the belief that we do not create any debts that might affect pricing or jeopardize our company’s strength in the event of an economic downturn.”
