CHICAGO — Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., the operator of the massive design center here, has introduced a ground-breaking concept known as “DreamHome” at The Merchandise Mart Design Center here, the company has announced.
Open for public viewing through Jan. 2, 2006, the nine-room DreamHome features interiors created by celebrated designers utilizing high-end, couture home furnishings available from Merchandise Mart Design Center showrooms to create “the ultimate destination for the very best in interior design,” Merchandise Mart officials said. DreamHome is located in the Merchandise Mart’s first floor south lobby, MMPI officials noted.
“We have the world’s largest collection of high-end, couture home furnishings under one roof,” said John Brennen III, executive v.p. for Merchandise Mart Properties.
“We are very excited to be launching DreamHome,” Brennen added. “It’s an opportunity for us to showcase the unparalleled beauty that can be created when the city’s best interior designers collaborate with the resources at The Merchandise Mart Design Center.”
The public can take advantage of DreamHome services through showroom tours, educational seminars and ongoing public events, Brennen observed.
In combination with the launch of DreamHome, MMPI has also introduced a project called “Online Designer Portfolios,” which helps match consumers with a compatible interior designer.
