LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — Fortune Brands, Inc., the Lincolnshire, IL-based parent company of Moen, Aristokraft, Omega, Diamond and Schrock, has posted “strong” operating results for the third quarter of 2005, the company announced.
The publicly traded company said that consumer demand for brands including Moen and the company’s cabinet products helped drive broad-based sales growth for the company during the quarter.
“The third quarter was a period of tremendous progress for Fortune Brands,” reported CEO Norm Wesley. “Sales grew in each of our three consumer businesses, our largest brands continued to gain market share and we grew sales double-digits in cabinets, faucets and entry doors.”
Net sales for the quarter were $1.8 billion, up 19% over the same period a year ago, Fortune Brands said. Operating income rose 18%, to $294.5 million, the company added.
