MASON, OH - In an effort to reach installers, contractors and other industry professionals who might not be able to make it to "Basco University" here, the shower door and enclosures manufacturer has launched an on-the-road training program, the company announced.
The program – which will involve Basco's training specialist Jason DeBruer traveling across the country teaching the classes – is an extension of the company's "Basco University," a training program that offers installers intensive, hands-on classes on the proper techniques and methods for best installing glass shower doors and enclosures.
The courses address how to correctly measure for the doors, how to check for out-of-square, out-of-plumb conditions, selecting the proper tools, and product differentiation. Basco University is held at the company's Mason, OH headquarters, in its new 4,500-sq.-ft. training center.
"Installers need to be in-tune to the specific requirements and parameters of the products they're working with daily. The training at Basco University demystifies our product and simplifies the shower door category by demonstrating how easy they are to handle and install," said Paul Williams, v.p./sales and marketing for Basco. "By providing critical hands-on experience, and including invaluable question and answer sessions, Basco University presents the necessary practical knowledge and practical experience needed to get it right and ensure satisfied, repeat customers."
Williams said that, since many installers can't make the trip to Mason, "we didn't want them to miss out on this valuable training, so we worked with our manufacturer's reps on bringing the training to the customers so they could learn all there is to know about the nuances of our product lines and how to handle and sell them."
Basco's on-the-road training can be customized to meet the specific needs of distributors or reps, according to the company.
