Broan--Nutone Names Competition Winners

Hartford, WI-Broan-NuTone and the National Kitchen and Bath Association have named the winners of the 2005 "Best Kitchen Design Competition," awarding a total of $40,000 in cash and scholarships to professional and student kitchen designers who incorporated proper kitchen ventilation into their designs utilizing the "Best by Broan" kitchen ventilation product line.

First-, second- and third-place professional and student winners were chosen in three competition categories: Wall Mounted Ventilation; Island/Peninsula Ventilation; and Custom Design Hood incorporating a Best by Broan kitchen ventilation product.

All first-place winners traveled to Las Vegas for the recent 2005 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) (May 9-11, 2005), where the grand prize professional and student winners were announced.

According to David Pringle, president and CEO of the Hartford, WI-based Broan-NuTone, Best distributors and dealers "played an integral role in the competition, from encouraging their customers to enter the competition to promoting it within their showrooms."

Also key to the success of the competition, Pringle observed, were the student instructors who lead the NKBA student chapters and encouraged their members to enter the competition.

"Because there were so many amazing competition entries, it was challenging to choose the winners in each category," Pringle said. "However, our judges, made up of a team of industry professionals, were able to distinguish which designs did the best job of incorporating proper ventilation into truly innovative kitchen designs."
