Bethesda, MD — Michael Silverstein, the author of the 2003 book Trading Up, The New American Luxury, will present the keynote address at the Decorative Plumbing & Hardware Association’s Fourth Annual Conference and Product Showcase, the trade association announced.
The conference is scheduled for Sept. 16-18 at La Quinta Resort, in Palm Springs, CA. The theme of the three-day event, the Bethesda, MD-based DPHA said, is “The Mind of the Luxury Consumer.”
Silverstein is a senior v.p. of the Boston Consulting Group’s Chicago office, where he serves as leader of the worldwide consumer and retail practice group, and devotes much of his time to brand development, innovation and customer discovery.
The DPHA’s 2005 Conference will explore opportunities to capitalize on the “trading up” phenomenon through Silverstein’s keynote address and in a series of breakout sessions that will follow, the association said.
