Canyon Creek Plants Trees, Donates Food

Monroe, WA Canyon Creek Cabinet Co., in partnership with the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association and The National Arbor Day Foundation, is supporting a goal to plant 50,000 trees to commemorate the KCMA's 50th anniversary in 2005.

The objective of the effort is to plant 50,000 hardwood trees in one of the nation's national forests, said Canyon Creek, headquarted in Monroe, WA. Trees planted in the KCMA anniversary forest will help reforest areas that have been damaged by fire, insects or disease.

"As a member of KCMA, Canyon Creek encourages the continued and expanded use of forestry products and promotes the principles of conservation and intelligent use of our national resources," the company said.

Canyon Creek also announced that its employees have once again staged a successful food drive to benefit the Sky Valley Food Bank. The effort, in its fourth year, resulted in nearly $5,600 in cash plus 1,611 pounds of food donated for the benefit of needy area families.
