European Show to Spotlight Kitchens

Cologne The International Furniture Fair will once again integrate kitchens, kitchen units and bathroom furniture on the show floor of the world's leading trade fair for the international furniture industry, set for this month in Cologne, Germany.
The biennial "imm cologne" will take place Jan. 17-23. The kitchen and bath segment, called "imm cuisinale," will be located in Hall 14.1 one of the 14 halls used for the massive trade show.

The International Furniture Fair is widely seen as the leading idea-generator for more than 130,000 visitors from 100 countries. It is also widely viewed as being a precursor to product trends in the U.S. market.

At the most recent show, in 2003, 1,369 exhibitors displayed their products on 2.8 million sq. ft. of exhibit space, according to show organizers.

The show features an annual kitchen design competition, and attracts kitchen designers, retailers, architects, interior designers and other trade professionals from around the world. The National Kitchen &?Bath Association (NKBA) will be represented on the show floor for the first time this year, according to show organizers.
