Bensalem, PA August-Wilhelm Siekmann, the chairman of SieMatic Möbelwerke, died recently. He was 81.

Born in Löhne, Germany, where SieMatic's factory is located, Mr. Siekmann took over the management of the high-end cabinet manufacturer in 1955 at the age of 32 and built the company, which was founded by his father in 1929, into a brand of international prominence.

Mr. Siekmann was considered to be a major influence on the development of the German kitchen manufacturing industry, and was responsible for product innovations that became standards in the worldwide
cabinet marketplace.

SieMatic currently employs more than 800 people and exports worldwide to more than 50 countries. It recently opened a new training and office building in Löhne. Its U.S. operation is located in Bensalem, PA.
