AWFS to Roll Out '05 Marketing Plan

Commerce, CA The Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) is rolling out a marketing campaign for the 2005 AWFS Fair that emphasizes not only the show's move to Las Vegas, "but also a new and impressive show," event organizers announced.

According to Jeff Oliverson, chairman of the AWFS trade show committee, the new campaign "was created with a definite message in mind.

"We want everyone to know that this isn't the same product that we offered in Anaheim," Oliverson said. "We're doing much more than just moving the show from one city to another."

The AWFS Fair, which began in Los Angeles in 1957 and has been held every other year at the Anaheim Convention Center since 1987, is being moved to Las Vegas in 2005. The show focuses on products aimed at the woodworking, furniture, cabinet manufacturing and fabrication industries.

AWFS has averaged 27,500 participants, including attendees and exhibitors, with more than 760 exhibiting companies, according to show organizers. By moving the show to Las Vegas, organizers predict an increase in both of these categories.

"AWFS Vegas," scheduled for July 27-30, 2005, is being forecast to utilize more than 420,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space.
The show's advertising campaign is set to launch an entire year prior to the show, more than six months sooner than any previous AWFS Fair attendee campaign, show sponsors noted.

"This is the most aggressive and far-reaching advertising campaign in AWFS history," show director Angelo Gangone said. "Our exhibitors, board of directors and staff are really excited about the move to Las Vegas. Now it's time to spread that excitement to potential attendees across the country and around the world."
