The Swan Corp. Marks 40th Year With Special Events

St. Louis The Swan Corporation, known throughout the kitchen and bath industry as the manufacturer of "Swanstone" solid surfacing, is marking its 40th anniversary this year with a series of product introductions and special events, the company announced.

According to Peter Warren, president of the St. Louis-based company, The Swan Corp. will introduce more new products
in 2004 than any other year in the company's history.

Warren also said that Swanstone is running several sales promotions in celebration of the milestone anniversary. Dealers, retailers and installers will have a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas, among other prizes. In addition, homeowners and dealers can take part in a special "Makeover Madness" contest, in which the Grand Prize winner will receive a $10,000 bathroom makeover using Swanstone solid surface or other Swanstone bath products.

The Swan Corp. was founded in 1964, when John Moore purchased the rights to the "Shell Shower," a spiral-shaped shower system made of molded fiberglass. It became the first non-metal, non-ceramic shower on the market.

The Swan Corp., which now employs more than 400 people, has focused its manufacturing efforts since that time on a range of products that includes bath and shower walls and surrounds, tubs, shower floors, lavatory bowls and vanity tops. The company's solid surface product line, aimed at both residential and commercial applications, includes countertop materials, sinks, trim and molding.
