Broan, NKBA Set Design Contest

Hartford, WI Broan-NuTone, manufacturer of air filtration, ventilation and household convenience products, based here, and the Hackettstown, NJ-based National Kitchen and Bath Association have jointly launched "The Best Kitchen Design Competition," offering a total of $40,000 in award monies.

Announced at the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) in Chicago last month, the contest held for the second year is open to kitchen designers, NKBA professional members, student designers and NKBA student members enrolled in accredited colleges or universities in the U.S. or Canada.

"We're pleased to be joining with Broan-NuTone to continue this design competition for our professional certified designers as well as our budding student kitchen designers," said NKBA president Beverly Dalton.

The contest will feature three categories wall-mounted ventilation, island and peninsula ventilation and custom design hoods incorporating a Best by Broan kitchen ventilation product. Entries will be judged on visual appeal, ability to creatively incorporate Best by Broan kitchen ventilation products, elements and principles of design and ventilation principles.

Grand-prize winners will be announced, and their winning designs unveiled, at the 2005 K/BIS in Las Vegas. Deadline for submissions is December 31, 2004.
