Italian Tile Contest Open for Entries

New York The Italian ceramic tile industry has announced a call for entries in the 10th edition of the Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition.

The annual awards program sponsored by Assopiastrelle, the Association of Italian Ceramic Tile Manufacturers, and the Italian Trade Commission recognizes excellence in the design and installation of Italian ceramic tile, including projects involving the kitchen and bath. North American architects, interior designers and other specifiers, including kitchen and bath specialists, are invited to submit residential or commercial/ institutional projects, say competition sponsors.

Applicants must submit a minimum of three different photographs of each project, as well as a brief project description including the location (city and country), description of the installation, client's name, Italian manufacturers
featured, local distributors and installers involved, product series names and formats utilized, and project completion date.

Entries may be submitted for projects completed between Jan. 1, 1998 and Feb. 1, 2002. Entries depicting domestic and international new construction and renovation are eligible. Completed submissions must be received no later than
Feb. 7, 2003.

An international jury of architects, design professionals and industry leaders will judge entries, note competition sponsors. The winner of each category (commercial/institutional and residential) will receive a cash prize of $5,000, which will be awarded during Coverings 2003 in Orlando, on March 25, 2003.
