Int'l Design Contest Winners Announced
Croydon, U.K. Three U.S. and two Canadian designers have won the right to represent their countries at the International Bathroom and Kitchen Designer Awards, to be held next month in London.
Award winners for the U.S. were: Frank J. Valdes of Cambridge, MA-based FJV Design, who scored first prize in the U.S. kitchens category, and the design team of Elaine Marlatt and Cyndi Stever, from Seattle, WA-based Voute Design Group, Inc. who took first place in the U.S. bathrooms category.
Anthony Binns, CKD, CBD, of Pickering, Ontario-based Binns Inc. won the title for best Canadian kitchen, while Tim Scott of Toronto, Ontario-based XTC Designs Inc. took top honors for Canadian baths.
The winners were awarded airfare and hotel stay for themselves and a companion to the Industry's Oscars, a gala event to be held at Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel.
Sponsored by Bathrooms + Kitchens Magazine, based here, the contest was judged at NKBA headquarters in Hackettstown, NJ, and were scored on presentation, safety and ergonomics, plus on the value added by the designer.
