Internet Firm Aids in Home Building Effort

Lexington, KY Company officials from DIYonline.com, a leading custom home improvement project Web site, took part last month in an effort to build a home for a needy central Kentucky family here, the company announced.

Company personnel provided volunteer labor, and DIYonline provided computerized kitchen and bath design assistance, on a home that was constructed as part of the sixth annual 2000 WKYT-TV/Lexington Habitat for Humanity Building Project.

The home was built for a single mother and her two children, one of whom is confined to a wheelchair.

"We are so glad to have had the opportunity to participate in this wonderful project for such a deserving family," said Fran Anderson, v.p./sales and marketing for DIYonline.com.

"We feel that Habitat for Humanity is an outstanding organization actively involved in the business of giving deserving, hard-working families a 'hand up' instead of a 'hand out'."
