“Introduced in 2011, Cambria’s Waterstone Collection of quartz color is influenced by the natural beauty and movement of water over stone. These trend-setting looks range from neutral to vibrant tones and capture the beauty of granite and marble, yet offer the performance of quartz.”

“Cambria will continue to innovate with several new designs in 2012 that demonstrate the movement found in many exotic stones, with the performance advantages of quartz.”

What are the hot trends in the countertop market?
“We are seeing an increase in demand for platinum reflections, exotic patterns as well as solid pure white hues,” says Lorenzo Marquez, vice president of Marketing, Cosentino North America. “Now, hues and colors have a lot more depth, movement and shine, allowing consumers and designers to incorporate more choices into their projects..”
What’s the latest countertop product you offer?
“Last year at KBIS we launched the Silestone Nebula and Galactic Series, a collection of six colors inspired by celestial nebulae. The aesthetic of the Nebula Series creates movement through veining and adds depth to kitchen countertops. The Silestone Galactic Series is a six-color line of earthy hues with a unique speckled patterned finish, characterized and inspired by the natural movement of stones and galactic rocks.”
Where are countertop trends going? What’s next?
“In 2012, Cosentino plans on introducing new hues to the Silestone Natural Quartz line. We are launching a new Silestone Series at KBIS in Chicago this year that is inspired by the distinctive coloring and movement of natural stone.”

“Exotic granites and engineered stones remain popular options for homeowners undertaking expensive kitchen renovation projects, while new large-scale laminate surfacing options appeal to homeowners who desire those exotic looks but are working with smaller budgets,” says Brian LaDuke, senior director of marketing, Formica. “Formica Group’s new surfacing designs reflect the look of trendy materials at lower price points.”
What is the latest countertop product you offer?
“We’ve expanded our best-selling 180fx laminate collection to include five new large-scale sweeping granites and bold quartzites in lighter, more neutral tones. We also just introduced another breakthrough in laminate with IdealEdge, decorative laminate edges suitable for curved, clipped or 90-degree corner installations. IdealEdge profiles have the ability to curve and encase all sides of countertops, islands and tables, eliminating flat edges and brown seams.”
