Project Name: Resort Oasis
Location: Soleburry, Pa.
Size: 3,000 sq. ft.
Cost: $500/sq. ft.
Homeowner: CEO

The plan was to expand unusable space to create a 3,000-sq.-ft. outdoor resort oasis that would become an extension and connection to the home’s indoor rooms. The five-star resort living space needed to appeal to a three-generation, dual-working professional family to relax, have fun and entertain. Separate but cohesive outside terraces were needed for different family and entertaining functions and were to center around a pool/spa, outdoor kitchen, eating area and loggia. Creating a level plot of land required excavating the site, and removing 4,000 cubic yards of soil, and incorporating drainage. The pool hardscape surround is made of hand-cut travertine butter-sticks in a herringbone pattern, and leads to the upper terrace, fountain grotto and parterres. The outdoor kitchen mosaic, hand-cut stone terrace floor creates a transition from the kitchen to an enclosed loggia with fireplace and TV.
