Category 5: Small Bathroom

• Designed by Leslie Lamarre, CKD, CID, CGBP along with co-designers Erika Shjeflo, CID and Casey Darcy, all of TRG Architects in Burlingame, CA, this bath will suit the eight-year-old client as she grows. Framed stone mosaic circular medallions set the tone, dressing up the tub walls and the face of a bench built into a nook for sitting. The Americh tub is surrounded by a custom frameless shower door, showing off the medallions and tile work. Carrara marble tops the High Quality Custom Cabinetry vanity, which features turned wood legs, bun feet and clear-glass handles. A Toto toilet and sink, as well as faucetry from Newport Brass, complement the space.

• This bath, originally built in the 1920s, needed a streamlined update that was respectful to the style of the home. Jon Crabtree of Inspired Spaces in Minneapolis, MN, created an open concept accentuated by the shower floor, which takes up the entire room. Clear glass shower deflectors and two shower floor drains keep the water from the sink and toilet areas. The shower, which features an angled wall design, incorporates floor-to-ceiling handmade subway tiles. The water-hued floor tiles add interest when used behind the Kohler toilet and the sink bump-out. A built-in vanity is paired with a Corian countertop. Faucets and fitting throughout the room are from Grohe.

• While this bath, designed by Terence Tung, CKD of Luna Kitchen and Bath in Newcastle, WA and co-designed by Joseph Irons, CGR, CAPS, CGP, GMB of Irons Brothers Construction, may reflect a spa-like aesthetic, the space is anything but sedate. A dramatic tile wall mixes W-age Marrow 3"x36" tiles with a stepped tile pattern of glass mosaics in Skylight Beige from Statements Tile. The mosaics continue over the Kitchen Craft Cabinetry vanity, which features the Pamli door style in Biani. The vanity area also features a Caesarstone Oyster quartz countertop and sleek hutch. A rectangular porcelain sink is paired with Puravida faucets from Hansgrohe, and a Kohler Persuade White toilet completes the design.
