While there has seemingly been minimal growth in the past two years attendance at industry trade shows, kitchen/bath dealers and designers seem more inclined now to attend more trade shows than they did in the previous year.
That’s one of several conclusions culled from a new survey of dealers and designers conducted for Kitchen & Bath Design News by its Charlotte, NC-based research partner, the Research Institute for Kitchen & Cooking Intelligence.
The online survey, conducted by RICKI in August among 233 designers and dealers, was aimed at gaining a better understanding of how leading specifiers view industry trade shows, and how those shows could be improved to better meet specifiers’ needs.
According to the survey, about half (51%) of the designers and dealers polled attended an industry trade show in the past two years, with one in four attending a show in the past 12 months.
Among those who attended a show in the past two years, the most popular trade show (attended by 71% of those who’ve gone to a show) is the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), followed distantly (29%) by a National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) regional event and the International Builders Show (13%).
