Fresh look for dated kitchen

Clients hoped to create a more contemporary classic design with a European influence in their kitchen. To maximize functionality and views to the outdoors, the kitchen was opened to the adjacent sunroom, creating a flow between the spaces. The old kitchen was dark and lacked natural light, and was separated from the sunroom by a brick wall. The existing kitchen layout was cramped and impeded traffic flow, and there was not enough storage. Removing the brick wall allowed natural light into the kitchen, finally. The roof structure of the sunroom was reframed, raising the flat area to match the height above the casual dining table.
