This year-round vacation destination for a large family plus family and friends features lake and woodland access and views. The waterfront site is located in a FEMA floodplain and required extensive permitting to raise the site out of the flood plain. The site design includes rain gardens that collect storm water, keeping it contained on the site and promote a natural cycle of absorbing into the aquifer, eliminating erosion and the flooding of neighboring properties. The architecture boasts panoramic views through an expanse of windows. The exterior palette of stained cedar, stone veneer, and metal roof define the natural waterfront design aesthetic. The home is divided into public and private zones by the three story atrium that traverses the interior and incorporates vertical circulation including stairways and an elevator servicing all levels.
