Preserving mosaic tile

The client and contractor alike wanted to save the original more than 100-year-old Romanesque revival mosaic floor. It preserved history, craftsmanship and added to the texture of the new bathroom, as well as serving as color inspiration for new materials used in the space. The rust mosaic floor tiles are echoed in the rust colored 4- by 12-in. glass tiles used on the wall facing out in the shower. Gray mosaic tiles are repeated in the Porcelanosa Shine Aluminio 13- by 39-in. on the side walls of the shower and the Porcelanosa Quattro Avenue Grey tiles on the shower floor.
