Stairway matches home's historical nature

The existing stairway was too narrow, steep and did not have sufficient head height clearance at the bottom. The kitchen entry door swung across the stair flight and the tread at the intermediate landing was clipped by entry door from the exterior and the exterior entry door swung across the width of the interim landing so one needed to climb the stair to avoid the door when opening. The new staircase was relocated to a more central locatoin that is more accessible, open and architecturally appealing. The design and construction also is complementary to the historical architectural style of the home.
