As I look out the window here in Wisconsin and still see snow, it’s easy to get caught up in daydreams of lying somewhere warm, poolside with a drink in hand. Since outdoor pools are currently still buried under snow for most of us here in the Midwest, I’m transferring my daydreams to lying somewhere by an indoor pool with a drink in hand.
I found some inspiration for my indoor pool daydreams, which I’ve posted on the ForResidentialPros Pinterest page for your viewing pleasure and can be found here. The inspiration board features stunning pools that blend the characteristics and style of the home with often family-friendly nature of indoor pools. The extra details, like mosaics, lighting and murals on the walls or ceilings, really stood out and created spaces worthy of daydreams.
The article “Creating Dramatic Indoor Pools” was previously posted on ForResidentialPros.com, but I bring it back up now because it features some sound advice about the realities of owning, installing and the upkeep of indoor pools. The article brings up that the location of an indoor pool in the house, whether in a basement, separate building or as part of an addition, may affect the design decisions and what a client is envisioning. Also, materials play a key factor in designing an indoor pool area, since high moisture levels in the air and the water in general need to be factored into the decision making process. The article in its entirety can be found here for your convenience and reading pleasure.
As I continue to have daydreams about lying by an indoor pool with a drink in hand, I’d love to hear from you about your own indoor pool experiences, realities or fantasies below.
