Versailles Mesh from Ann Sacks features a composition that resembles aged mirror, complete with mottling and dramatic colorations, yet weaves in a textural element for a modern edge. Designed to complement the company's Versaille tile, the medium for Versailles Mesh is security glass, which imbeds thin steel wiring into the glass field for strength. When used in this application, the wiring adds dimensional, geometric relief. The glass is hand-silvered by artisans employing 18th century mirror-making techniques, then hand-sanded to bring out its natural imperfections and finally hand-cut. Suitable for all vertical, dry applications, Versailles Mesh is offered in four colorways: Silver Flake, Rose Butter, Dark Bronze and Mercury. The tiles are available in 6”x6”, 6”x12”, 6”x24”, 12”x12”, 12”x24”, and 24”x24” fields, with custom sizes also available.
Designed by Italian architect and designer Rodolfo Dordoni, Tidewater (shown) and Lath from Ann Sacks utilize up to 25-percent recycled materials within the tiles’ porcelain composition. Tidewater imparts a striae effect designed to be similar to the draping of a fine textile or the fluidity of warm clay. The irregularity of the tile design gives the surface its character and movement, according to the company. It is offered in two field sizes: 7-7/8”x70-7/8” and 31-1/2"x70-7/8". The design of Lath porcelain tile is inspired by the impression that remained when poured cement is removed from a wood cast. Lath is offered in 8"x47", 12"x47" and 24"x47" planks and is available in Whitewash, Beige, Clay and Ebony.
Ann Sacks has partnered with ceramicist Daniel Ogassian to introduce its new Ogassian tile line, a blend of Old World hand-craftmanship with modern technology. The tiles, which feature bold, geometric forms displayed in deep relief, are made on two clay bodies: buff and red terracotta, with artisanal glazes to match each type of clay.
Composed entirely of the wood from fallen trees that has fossilized, the new Petrified Wood line from Ann Sacks can be used for walls, countertops or other applications. Available in 12"x24" and 12"x12" tiles, as well as customized slabs, Petrified Wood is a hard surface that is composed of actual cross-sections of trees that have been polished or antiqued. The Log pattern displays the tree's growth rings, while the Retro is a mosaic of smaller pieces. Both patterns are available in Porto (black), Charcoal and a deep Red.
Inspired by Japanese and Chinese pottery, these one-of-a-kind Stoneware tiles from Ann Sacks impart a multi-dimensional, layered glaze in a blend of neutrals, deep metallics and accent colors. The line is available in a wide variety of sizes, in 18 colors, 11 of which are new.
Ann Sacks has introduced three reclaimed French limestones taken from 19th and early 20th century French farmhouses. The company acquires the first cut, or top layer, of the stone, to provide a stone with an authentic patina. The Antique Dalle de Bourgogne limestone, shown, is a collection of creme to terra cotta colored stones.
Ann Sacks has released a reclaimed French limestone flooring collection composed of limestone reclaimed from 19th and early 20th century French farmhouses. The stones in the collection are taken from the first cut, or top layer of the stone, so the stone retains its authentic patina. Antique Blond Bar is sourced near the city of Nimes has a crème to caramel coloration. Antique Dalle de Bourgogne blends crème and terra cotta colored stones. Antique Grey Bar is gray-colored.
A 19th century technique known as the bath jug incorporates silver and tin to achieve shimmering results and is used to create Visage, Ann Sacks’ antiqued mirror tile. This tile uses recycled base glass and is available in a 4”x8” field.
Clodagh Core, a new series of five earthenware and stoneware tiles from Ann Sacks, marks the first time the designer has used stoneware as a medium to define her works. The earthy designs include Facet In/Facet Out, Ripple, Block, Raked (shown) and Dune. The tiles are handcrafted and will be offered in 4”x4” and 4”x6” fields.
ANN SACKS has launched four tile designs and a complete coordinated trim program to expand its exclusive Impressions Series. The hand-etched ceramic tiles—herringbone, icing, tic tac oh and woodcut (pictured)—are hand-glazed to create unique variances in color, shade and surface texture. The Impressions Series tiles are available in 18 colors and two sizes—2 by 4 inches and 4 by 4 inches.
