Innovative printing techniques allow independent layers of pattern to randomly interact during the course of printing, with patterns repeating only every 500 to 700 sheets. For 2013 Formica Corporation features 33 on-trend Formica-brand laminate patterns, including woodgrains, graphics and brights. The collection includes 10 new classics and four patterns in Woodgrain, including ash, legno, teak and walnut, as well as a ribbonwood pattern; nine new graphics, optical solids and chameleons; and 10 solid color optimistic brights, mid-tone chromas and complex neutrals.

Formica Corp. introduces five new full-scale 180fx patterns that feature the premium Etchings finish (with a softly polished finish etched and dappled with highlights from tiny fissures) or Radiance finish, a high-gloss finish that has holographic facets that refract and reflect light. The Travertine Gold in Etchings finish, shown, is reminiscent of vein-cut travertine, with alternating layers of cream and caramel with gray details.
