Knauf Insulation EcoBatts or Knauf Premium Blowing Insulation, used with Knauf’s EcoSeal (a fast drying, water-based elastomeric spray that seals penetrations and joints in the building envelope and is extremely low in VOCs), form the EcoSeal System — a hig- performance, continuous and affordable air and thermal barrier. EcoBatt contains three primary ingredients: sand, 60% post-consumer recycled glass and ECOSE Technology for greater sustainability and contains no phenol or formaldehyde.

The EcoSeal System from Knauf Insulation delivers high-performance air sealing, along with consistent thermal and acoustical performance. This water-based elastomeric sealant is applied at 1,700-2,200 psi, so it aggressively penetrates cracks, seams and joints. The product dries quickly to a flexible but tough film that forms an effective, continuous and affordable air barrier in the penetrations and joints of the building envelope, so it is ideal for keeping jobs moving and on schedule.

Knauf Insulation is part of a coalition behind EnergyResponseCorps.org, a site that alerts homeowners to the loss of energy and money through inadequate insulation, air leaks, and inefficient appliances, windows and HVAC. A homeowner can enter his or her address into the site and review current energy payments and then manipulate those payments by choosing cost-effective energy-efficiency improvements. The site also connects homeowners with a contractor member to perform an audit and energy-efficiency upgrades.
