(August 19, 2008) – Whirlpool Corporation, the world’s leading home appliance manufacturer, recently announced that two of its senior account managers, Lanny Tillery and Richie Heumann, have earned Certified Green Professional (GCP) designations from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The GCP distinction recognizes Tillery and Heumann as building industry professionals with knowledge of the best strategies for incorporating green building principles into home building.
“The recent accomplishments of Lanny and Richie truly reinforce our commitment to being a comprehensive resource to help builders incorporate more green elements in their home building efforts,” said Tracy Frye, senior contract marketing manager at Whirlpool Corporation. “They represent the first of many Whirlpool Corporation sales professionals who are working closely with the building industry to help set the pace for sustainable construction.”
The GCP curriculum includes training by leading building industry practitioners on a range of topics. These include strategies for incorporating green building principles into homes using cost-effective methods of construction; reduced homeowner maintenance through green building; and how green homes offer improved indoor air quality. Lanny and Richie are required to maintain their designation by completing 12 hours of continuing education every three years, a portion of which pertains to green building activities.
