New Orleans, LA - HAI (Home Automation, Inc.), a leading manufacturer of integrated automation and security products since 1985, received a visit from the Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) "America Wins With Trade" tour bus on July 31, 2008. The stop was part of a 34-state tour by the CEA to promote the importance of trade to American jobs and U.S. economic growth.
The stop included a tour of the HAI New Orleans facility and a short speech by HAI President Jay McLellan regarding the importance of free trade to the company, "We export about 15 % of our sales, and are interested in increasing that number" explained Mr. McLellan. "We have translated our system into 5 languages, and are now selling in Canada, the European Union, Mexico and other countries. Trade barriers on incoming components or outgoing products are detrimental to HAI and similar businesses across the USA."
According to the CEA, of its 2,200 members, 80 percent are small and mid-sized companies with revenues of $30 million or less. For companies of this size in particular, trade is crucial for business growth and domestic job creation. The bus will continue its nationwide tour heading to Texas and Arizona before making its way up the west coast.
HAI products are available through a worldwide network of Distributors and installing dealers in over 80 countries. For more information, please visit www.homeauto.com or call 800-229-7256. For more information on the CEA trade initiative, please go to www.CE.org.
