FARGO, N.D. – August 5, 2008 – Integrity® from Marvin Windows and Doors has added to its roster of awards with an Effie, given to honor the best advertising campaigns. Integrity’s fictional product testers, Carl and Stu, took home a bronze Effie for their humorous, yet educational, ways of running Integrity products through some very unusual situations. This is the first Effie that Integrity Windows and Doors has received. Martin Williams, Integrity’s advertising agency of record, partnered with Integrity to create the Carl and Stu characters and campaign.
Since 1968, the Effie has symbolized the greatest measure of achievement within the advertising industry. The Effie honors “great ideas that achieve real results and the strategy that goes into creating them.” Effie winners represent client and agency teams who tackled a marketplace challenge with a big idea and knew exactly how to communicate their message to their customer.
Integrity’s Effie-winning campaign centered around “product testers” Carl and Stu who put Integrity to the test by pitting it against vinyl in a wide variety of competitions. Although shown in a silly way, Carl and Stu’s tests show that Integrity, made with Ultrex, is seriously superior to vinyl in virtually every way.
Seth Rourke, Integrity marketing manager, says, “We work hard to educate our customers about Integrity, and Carl and Stu are a great vehicle to show how Integrity is truly Built to perform. We’re proud of our work on this campaign and thrilled to be recognized with an Effie.”
