Wine Master Cellars has a new president

Charles Malek, Wine Master Cellars’ former National Sales Director was appointed new company President by Doug McCain, the Owner and previous President of Wine Master Cellars, on Monday July 14th 2008. It is Charles Malek’s mission to continue the growth and development of Wine Master Cellars as the manufacturer of the innovative and modern VintageView Wine Storage and Display System used in retail stores, wine bars, and restaurants and in the homes of wine lovers everywhere.

Doug McCain, will continue to oversee product quality and custom design work at WMC, though with a smaller presence over the next several months acting as an advisor to Charles in his transition as the new company head.

Charles Malek brings a formidable array of business experience to Wine Master Cellars. Charles began his career with the E. & J. Gallo Winery in their Management Development Program rising from sales representative in their southern California office to managing their Chain Sales Division in Japan. Malek then worked as a Vice-President of Sales helping to implement a consumer relations program for McDonald’s and Catalina Marketing.

Charles subsequently served as General Manager, VP Sales & Marketing for Pearl Beverages; a startup company focused on developing new and unique spirit brands. Malek led U.S. sales and marketing efforts for 42 Below Vodka before the brand was sold to Bacardi.

Charles is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, is on the board for Colorado Youth at Risk and a graduate of Leadership Denver.
