Mortgage rates decline

Greece's debt crisis became center stage at this week's gathering of the G20 Summit in France. On the fears that Greece's financial crisis will drastically affect the global economy, the 30-year mortgage rates declined to a low of 4.2 percent and 15-year mortgage rates declined to 3.48, according to Bankrate. "One year ago, the mortgage index was 4.42 percent; four weeks ago, it was 4.21 percent," said Bankrate's news release.
